Christmas Star On Beehive Bobbin
A
huge
primitive star made from American muslin, painted in barn
red, distressed and grunged with coffee, vanilla &
cinnamon. The vintage Santa image has been printed
onto parchment paper, grunged with coffee, vanilla and
cinnamon and had its top, bottom and sides
match-scorched to give an aged effect. The image is
pasted onto the grungy muslin pocket which has been fastened
to the star with rusty safety pins accented with a jingle
bell and green & grey Spanish moss. The pocket is
filled with masses of prim greens, burgundy pip berries,
rusty stars and Spanish moss. I have added two of my
raggedy candy canes, a homespun and cheesecloth tie and a
grungy 'Vintage Christmas' hang tag. The five points
of the star have been accented with rusty tin jingle bells
and green & grey Spanish moss. The whole thing has
been liberally dusted with German glitter glass.
The
star is sitting on a antique beehive bobbin which has been
tied with homespun and cheesecloth.
