Batty
Witch
Batty
is a large witch sitter made from American muslin which I've
painted and grunged with coffee, vanilla &
cinnamon. Her face has hand painted emerald green eyes
with hand pieced eyelids, a pinch-stitched nose and a black,
satin-stitched mouth. Protruding from her hat is
curled rusty wire hair. She has a tea-dyed cheesecloth
shawl and tied around her neck is a rag swag collar made
from an assortment of rust and black coloured fabrics.
Finished with a silver coat button. Her hat is
decorated with a tea-dyed cheesecloth tie, Spanish moss,
sweet Annie sprigs and five flying bats.
Her
broom is a wooden stick with a large bunch of Spanish moss
tied to the bottom with tea-dyed muslin strips.
Finished with a rusty tin safety pin, a rusty bell and a
tea-dyed vintage hang tag.
